Arbor Lodge State Historical Park

Points of interest include Carriage House, Italian Terraced Garden, Monument Square, Log Cabin, Pine Grove, Tree Trail, and Family Plot
Arnold State Recreation Area

Located immediately south of the community of Arnold. Mature trees provide summer campers with cooling shade. Arnold State Recreation Area is a primitive recreation area encompassing 10 acres of land and featuring a 22 acre lake. The area offers camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking and has electrical and primitive camping.
Atkinson State Recreation Area

The lake was deepened and the overall size is approximately 14 surface acres. The Game and Parks has stocked the lake with bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish. Recreational facilities at the lake include camping areas, vault toilets, drinking water, picnic tables and grills, picnic shelters and playground equipment. Boating facilities available.
Blue River State Recreation Area

Blue River is a 14-acre recreation area located next to the Big Blue River. This area offers picnicking and fishing, and is for day use only. No camping is allowed.
Bluestem State Recreation Area

Anglers especially enjoy this 742-acre state recreation area, situated 2l/2 miles west of Sprague. The 325-acre lake offers diverse action for anglers of all abilities. Opportunity awaits to try for largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye, northern pike and wiper among others. Boating is allowed at Bluestem, and boaters find there is easy access to the water from strategically located ramps. The 417 acres of land around the lake give hunters plenty of room to maneuver for pheasants, quail, squirrel cottontail rabbit, waterfowl and deer.
Bowman Lake State Recreation Area

Bowman Lake is a 23-acre area lying adjacent to the Loup River and features a 20 acre man made lake. The area offers picnicking, fishing and primitive camping.
Box Butte Reservoir State Recreation Area

Box Butte is a 1,600-acre impoundment on the Niobrara River with an adjacent 612 acres of land. The area offers power boating, picnicking, swimming beach, fishing and primitive camping. Box Butte is an irrigation reservoir so it has a severe drawdown during the summer months. There is one boat ramp and in dry years it may be difficult to launch a boat.
Branched Oak State Recreation Area

With 1,800 acres of water at maximum conservation pool, Branched Oak Lake stretches for almost 4 miles with miles and miles of shoreline. The largest of the Salt Valley areas, Branched Oak has some of the finest camping facilities in the state park system, including solar-heated showers, electrical hookups, and a trailer dump station. From largemouth bass to walleye to three kinds of catfish, there's fishing enough to test the mettle of the most dedicated angler. There are two new fish cleaning stations, one on either side of the lake. Boaters and picnickers, too, will find ample facilities there.
Chadron State Park

Activities are diverse, too, ranging from swimming in the regulation-size pool to trout fishing to pedaling around the park lagoon in a paddleboat. Horseback trail rides and Jeep rides provide more spectacular views of the area.
